I ordered half a dozen doughnuts (Maple Bar, Dirt, Diablos Rex, Portland Creme, Voodoo Doll, and Mango Tango), and every single one of them was fresh and full of flavor and character. However, I was very please with the doughnuts overall taste and quality. I was a little skeptical about Voodoo because other reviews say that the doughnuts are not that good. After one makes it through the gauntlet of weirdos, you can finally purchase some food. The amount of these people is usually higher in the summer as it is the height of season, but still go at an off time. From smokers to beggars, to musicians and pseudo-hippies, all types of odd and annoying people try to prey on those carrying enough change in their pocket for a dozen doughnuts. What I mean is that during peak times such as weekends, panhandlers and homeless people surround the doughnut shop. Also be warned that due to so many tourists and people willing to buy doughnuts, the area attracts a lot of "characters". This is the time that I went and the wait was only 30 minutes, which is great compared to the usual hour or longer wait time. This why I suggest going at an off time such as a Monday at around 9pm. Voodoo Doughnuts' popularity brings in a lot of people and it usually has a very long line.
